Description: Preliminary draft of groundwater susceptibility in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. Not for distribution. This map is part of the Bayfield County Hydrologeologic Atlas, completed 2017-2018. Suscpetibility was assessed by evaluating four factors: 1) depth to water table; 2) depth to bedrock; 3) groundwater recharge; and 4) surface materials. The map characterizes the general sensitivity of the aquifer based on the ease with which contaminants at the surface can reach the water table. The map does not indicate current or future sources of contamination. For use at 1:100,000 scale.
